robert jenkins dallas texas 75234Mr. Jenkins is a proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where he graduated with high honors after majoring in broadcast journalism and competing in numerous mock trial competitions in preparation for law school. Following graduation, he attended the prestigious UCLA School of Law where he earned scholarship honors for his legal writing, served as a teaching assistant for a legal writing class, authored an article on the Exxon Valdez litigation, and was selected as the President of the UCLA Moot Court Honors Program.  The published legal article authored by Mr. Jenkins can be viewed here: "Running Aground in a Sea of Complex Litigation: A Case Comment on the Exxon Valdez Litigation," 18 UCLA J. Envtl. L. Pol'y 151 (1999/2000).

Following graduation, Mr. Jenkins began his legal career in San Diego, California with the law firm of Seltzer Caplan McMahon Vitek where his practice involved complex business and real estate litigation. Thereafter, Mr. Jenkins returned to Dallas where he was raised and joined a large downtown law firm where his practice broadened to include a wide variety of business disputes such as claims involving trade secrets and covenants not to compete, causes arising under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA), and claims for fraud, misrepresentation and breach of contract. He also practiced bank litigation and commercial debt collections.  Mr. Jenkins' non-litigation experience includes negotiating and drafting all types of contracts, and handling high net-worth marital dissolutions.

During his tenure with the large downtown law firm, Mr. Jenkins appeared for more than 150 hearings in courts throughout the state of Texas including the cities of Dallas, Fort Worth, Denton, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Rockwall, Plano, Decatur, and Waco and many other areas surrounding the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.  Additionally, he represented numerous clients in mediations and arbitration, served as the lead attorney for many trials, appeared before the Texas Court of Appeals, and filed briefs with the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. When the big law firm closed its doors, Mr. Jenkins decided it was time to take the experience he had acquired and the potential he possessed, and bring a fresh perspective to his legal practice. After spending his entire career working at big law firms with demanding overhead and business models that rewarded inefficiency, Mr. Jenkins stepped out on faith and formed the Jenkins Law Firm in hopes of putting the focus back on the needs of his clients' cases and not on the demands of big firm overhead.  After establishing his own successful law firm, Mr. Jenkins joined Jason Babb to form Jenkins | Babb, LLP.

When not working, Mr. Jenkins enjoys rooting for the Texas Longhorns, attending church, playing golf, reading, and playing poker.
